Welcome to
Central Baptist Church
A Bible-believing, independent Baptist church in Decatur, Illinois.
At Central Baptist Church, we desire to reach our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, strengthen families, and help individuals grow through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word.
About Us
At Central Baptist Church, you’ll find a friendly congregation that would be glad to welcome you. Whether you’ve attended church all your life or are visiting for the first time, we invite you to join us for Bible preaching, traditional hymns, and Christian fellowship.
We believe the local church should strengthen families, teach God’s Word, and faithfully share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through our children’s, teen, and adult ministries, our desire is to help people grow closer to God and encourage one another in the Christian life.
Our Beliefs
At Central Baptist Church, we believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God, preserved for us today. We use the King James Bible in all our preaching, teaching, and church ministries. God’s Word is the foundation for what we believe and how we live.
We believe church music should honor the Lord, encourage believers, and prepare hearts for the preaching of God’s Word. Our services feature traditional hymns of the faith, congregational singing from the hymnal, and Christ-honoring special music. We maintain a traditional approach to church music rather than using contemporary Christian music.
A Welcome from Pastor Brown
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website!
At Central Baptist Church, we are committed to Jesus Christ and His Word. We believe the local church should be a place where the Bible is faithfully preached, Christian fellowship is encouraged, and people are helped to grow in their walk with the Lord.
When you visit Central Baptist, you will find a friendly church family, traditional hymns of the faith, and Bible-centered preaching. Our services are traditional in style, but filled with the joy of serving the Lord.
Whether you are new to Decatur, looking for a church home, or simply visiting our area, we would be delighted to have you join us for a service.
My wife Linda and I look forward to meeting you personally.
May God richly bless you!
